Ezra 5.0:

Ezra 5.1: 1 Now the prophets, Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem. They prophesied to them in the name of the God of Israel.
Ezra 5.2: 2 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to build God’s house which is at Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of God, helping them.
Ezra 5.3: 3 At the same time Tattenai, the governor beyond the River came to them, with Shetharbozenai, and their companions, and asked them, “Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”
Ezra 5.4: 4 They also asked for the names of the men were who were making this building.
Ezra 5.5: 5 But the eye of their God was on the elders of the Jews, and they didn’t make them cease, until the matter should come to Darius, and an answer should be returned by letter concerning it.
Ezra 5.6: 6 The copy of the letter that Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shetharbozenai, and his companions the Apharsachites, who were beyond the River, sent to Darius the king follows.
Ezra 5.7: 7 They sent a letter to him, in which was written:
To Darius the king, all peace.
Ezra 5.8: 8 Be it known to the king that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is built with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls. This work goes on with diligence and prospers in their hands.
Ezra 5.9: 9 Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus, “Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”
Ezra 5.10: 10 We asked them their names also, to inform you that we might write the names of the men who were at their head.
Ezra 5.11: 11 Thus they returned us answer, saying, “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and are building the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
Ezra 5.12: 12 But after our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
Ezra 5.13: 13 But in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, Cyrus the king made a decree to build this house of God.
Ezra 5.14: 14 The gold and silver vessels of God’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought into the temple of Babylon, those Cyrus the king also took out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor.
Ezra 5.15: 15 He said to him, ‘Take these vessels, go, put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let God’s house be built in its place.’
Ezra 5.16: 16 Then the same Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of God’s house which is in Jerusalem. Since that time even until now it has been being built, and yet it is not completed.
Ezra 5.17: 17 Now therefore, if it seems good to the king, let a search be made in the king’s treasure house, which is there at Babylon, whether it is so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem; and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.”

Mark 10.1: 1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
Mark 10.2: 2 Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
Mark 10.3: 3 He answered, “What did Moses command you?”
Mark 10.4: 4 They said, “Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”
Mark 10.5: 5 But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment. 
Mark 10.6: 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
Mark 10.7: 7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, 
Mark 10.8: 8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. 
Mark 10.9: 9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” 
Mark 10.10: 10 In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.
Mark 10.11: 11 He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her. 
Mark 10.12: 12 If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery.”
Mark 10.13: 13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
Mark 10.14: 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these. 
Mark 10.15: 15 Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
Mark 10.16: 16 He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
Mark 10.17: 17 As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
Mark 10.18: 18 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God. 
Mark 10.19: 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”
Mark 10.20: 20 He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”
Mark 10.21: 21 Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”
Mark 10.22: 22 But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
Mark 10.23: 23 Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”
Mark 10.24: 24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into God’s Kingdom! 
Mark 10.25: 25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
Mark 10.26: 26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”
Mark 10.27: 27 Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”
Mark 10.28: 28 Peter began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all, and have followed you.”
Mark 10.29: 29 Jesus said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News, 
Mark 10.30: 30 but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time: houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life. 
Mark 10.31: 31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first.”
Mark 10.32: 32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
Mark 10.33: 33 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles. 
Mark 10.34: 34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
Mark 10.35: 35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
Mark 10.36: 36 He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
Mark 10.37: 37 They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory.”
Mark 10.38: 38 But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
Mark 10.39: 39 They said to him, “We are able.”
Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; 
Mark 10.40: 40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
Mark 10.41: 41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant toward James and John.
Mark 10.42: 42 Jesus summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 
Mark 10.43: 43 But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant. 
Mark 10.44: 44 Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all. 
Mark 10.45: 45 For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10.46: 46 They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
Mark 10.47: 47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
Mark 10.48: 48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
Mark 10.49: 49 Jesus stood still, and said, “Call him.”
They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”
Mark 10.50: 50 He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Mark 10.51: 51 Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see again.”
Mark 10.52: 52 Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way.

Colossians 1.1: 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
Colossians 1.2: 2 to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1.3: 3 We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Colossians 1.4: 4 having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have toward all the saints,
Colossians 1.5: 5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News

Colossians 1.9: 9 For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
Colossians 1.10: 10 that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,
Colossians 1.11: 11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,
Colossians 1.12: 12 giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,
Colossians 1.13: 13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,
Colossians 1.14: 14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.
Colossians 1.15: 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Colossians 1.16: 16 For by him all things were created in the heavens and on the earth, visible things and invisible things, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.
Colossians 1.17: 17 He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.
Colossians 1.18: 18 He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Colossians 1.19: 19 For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,
Colossians 1.20: 20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself by him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.
Colossians 1.21: 21 You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil deeds,
Colossians 1.22: 22 yet now he has reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without defect and blameless before him,
Colossians 1.23: 23 if it is so that you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, was made a servant.
Colossians 1.24: 24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,
Colossians 1.25: 25 of which I was made a servant according to the stewardship of God which was given me toward you to fulfill the word of God,
Colossians 1.26: 26 the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints,
Colossians 1.27: 27 to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1.28: 28 We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus;
Colossians 1.29: 29 for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

Colossians 2.1: 1 For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Colossians 2.2: 2 that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,
Colossians 2.3: 3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
Colossians 2.4: 4 Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.
Colossians 2.5: 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
Colossians 2.6: 6 As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him,
Colossians 2.7: 7 rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
Colossians 2.8: 8 Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.
Colossians 2.9: 9 For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,
Colossians 2.10: 10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colossians 2.11: 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ,
Colossians 2.12: 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2.13: 13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
Colossians 2.14: 14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.
Colossians 2.15: 15 Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Colossians 2.16: 16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,
Colossians 2.17: 17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.
Colossians 2.18: 18 Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Colossians 2.19: 19 and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.
Colossians 2.20: 20 If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,
Colossians 2.21: 21 “Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”
Colossians 2.22: 22 (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?
Colossians 2.23: 23 These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body; but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

Colossians 3.1: 1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3.2: 2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.
Colossians 3.3: 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3.4: 4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.
Colossians 3.5: 5 Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Colossians 3.6: 6 For these things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
Colossians 3.7: 7 You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;
Colossians 3.8: 8 but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
Colossians 3.9: 9 Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,
Colossians 3.10: 10 and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,
Colossians 3.11: 11 where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, or free person; but Christ is all, and in all.
Colossians 3.12: 12 Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;
Colossians 3.13: 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
Colossians 3.14: 14 Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
Colossians 3.15: 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.
Colossians 3.16: 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
Colossians 3.17: 17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.
Colossians 3.18: 18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Colossians 3.19: 19 Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them.
Colossians 3.20: 20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.
Colossians 3.21: 21 Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.
Colossians 3.22: 22 Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.
Colossians 3.23: 23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,
Colossians 3.24: 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3.25: 25 But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.

Colossians 4.1: 1 Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
Colossians 4.2: 2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving,
Colossians 4.3: 3 praying together for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds,
Colossians 4.4: 4 that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.
Colossians 4.5: 5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Colossians 4.6: 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
Colossians 4.7: 7 All my affairs will be made known to you by Tychicus, the beloved brother, faithful servant, and fellow bondservant in the Lord.
Colossians 4.8: 8 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that he may know your circumstances and comfort your hearts,
Colossians 4.9: 9 together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you everything that is going on here.
Colossians 4.10: 10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you received commandments, “if he comes to you, receive him”),
Colossians 4.11: 11 and Jesus who is called Justus. These are my only fellow workers for God’s Kingdom who are of the circumcision, men who have been a comfort to me.
Colossians 4.12: 12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always striving for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
Colossians 4.13: 13 For I testify about him that he has great zeal for you, and for those in Laodicea, and for those in Hierapolis.
Colossians 4.14: 14 Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you.
Colossians 4.15: 15 Greet the brothers who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the assembly that is in his house.
Colossians 4.16: 16 When this letter has been read among you, cause it to be read also in the assembly of the Laodiceans, and that you also read the letter from Laodicea.
Colossians 4.17: 17 Tell Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it.”

4 Maccabees 13.3: 3 now it is not so: but by means of the reasoning which is praised by God, they mastered their passions.
4 Maccabees 13.4: 4 And it is impossible to overlook the leadership of reflection: for it gained the victory over both passions and troubles.
4 Maccabees 13.5: 5 How, then, can we avoid according to these men mastery of passion through right reasoning, since they drew not back from the pains of fire?
4 Maccabees 13.6: 6 For just as by means of towers projecting in front of harbors men break the threatening waves, and thus assure a still course to vessels entering port,
4 Maccabees 13.7: 7 so that seven-towered right-reasoning of the young men, securing the harbour of religion, conquered the intermperance of passions.
4 Maccabees 13.8: 8 For having arranged a holy choir of piety, they encouraged one another, saying,
4 Maccabees 13.9: 9 Brothers, may we die brotherly for the law. Let us imitate the three young men in Assyria who despised the equally afflicting furnace.
4 Maccabees 13.10: 10 Let’s not be cowards in the manifestation of piety.
4 Maccabees 13.11: 11 And one said, Courage, brother; and another, Nobly endure.
4 Maccabees 13.12: 12 And another, Remember of what stock you° are; and by the hand of our father Isaac endured to be slain for the sake of piety.
4 Maccabees 13.13: 13 And one and all, looking on each other serene and confident, said, Let us sacrifice with all our heart our souls to God who gave them, and employ our bodies for the keeping of the law.
4 Maccabees 13.14: 14 Let’s not fear him who thinks he kills;
4 Maccabees 13.15: 15 for great is the trial of soul and danger of eternal torment laid up for those who transgress the commandment of God.
4 Maccabees 13.16: 16 Let’s arm ourselves, therefore, in the self-control, which is divine reasoning.
4 Maccabees 13.17: 17 If we suffer thus, Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob will receive us, and all the fathers will commend us.
4 Maccabees 13.18: 18 And as each one of the kindred was haled away, the rest exclaimed, Disgrace us not, O brother, nor falsify those who died before you.
4 Maccabees 13.19: 19 Now you are not ignorant of the charm of brotherhood, which the Divine and all wise Providence has imparted through fathers to children, and has engendered through the mother’s womb.
4 Maccabees 13.20: 20 In which these brothers having remained an equal time, and having been formed for the same period, and been increased by the same blood, and having been perfected through the same principle of life,
4 Maccabees 13.21: 21 and having been brought forth at equal intervals, and having sucked milk from the same springs, hence their brotherly souls are reared up lovingly together;
4 Maccabees 13.22: 22 and increase the more powerfully by reason of this simultaneous rearing, and by daily intercourse, and by other education, and exercise in the law of God.
4 Maccabees 13.23: 23 Brotherly love being thus sympathetically constituted, the seven kindred had a more sympathetic mutual harmony.
4 Maccabees 13.24: 24 For being educated in the same law, and practising the same virtues, and reared up in a just course of life, they increased this harmony with each other.
4 Maccabees 13.25: 25 For a like ardor for what is right and honorable increased their fellow-feeling toward each other.
4 Maccabees 13.26: 26 For it acting along with religion, made their brotherly feeling more desirable to them.
4 Maccabees 13.27: 27 And yet, although nature and intercourse and virtuous morals increased their brotherly love those who were left endured to behold their kindred, who were ill-used for their religion, tortured even to death.
